Butterflies at Frederick Meijer Gardens

There are hundreds of butterflies (Lepidoptera, they are called) at Frederick Meijer Gardens this month. I went with mom and Gillian right after eating at Gaia and driving across the town to Harvest Health.

Caught this one in action

After it calmed down.

This one is sunning itself.

A close up of similar butterfly on a similar flower patch.

An interesting butterfly with clear wings.

I think they keep syrup (food) for the butterflies on the little pedestals.

This one is sitting in the sun, drying its wings.

Another good shot of it.

This was the biggest butterfly there. On the top (inside) of its wings was a luminescient blue.

Caught this one licking itself.

Not as colorful as its friends, but the wing structure is cool.
