Danish Festival




There was a booth at the festival with some cool fossils and other naturaly occuring stones. They had geodes you could buy and break open yourself.

The Danish Festival Parade didn't last too long. It only went about 5 blocks. At the end of it was this little kid in a homemade ice cream truck. He didn't have any ice cream.

The Danish festival is known for it's ableskivers, which are like little doughnut holes. The guy cooking them said they make over 85 gallons of batter each night before turning them out at the festival.
There were also gyro booths, a lot of sausage from the Lions Club and a pig roast.

There was a bug booth at the festival with mounted butterflies, beatles, scorpions and a bunch of other insects that were a lot bigger than I have ever seen. They look like they could eat your face off. There was also a few coin purses made from toad heads.

There were many booths where you could buy knick-knacks and art things you wouldn't ordinarily even want unless you were at a festival. There were tiny clothes, dragon paintings, an indian playing on a flute and some odd looking deer heads made out of wood.

There were lots of people at this year's Danish Festival in Gereenville. The theme was Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid." Last year's theme was "The Steadfast Tin Soldier." People dressed up in their red and white Danish outfits and walked around Lafayette St.
